Board of Trustees & Village President

The Village of West Dundee is governed by a Village President and six-member Board of Trustees.
The Village Board holds regular meetings twice per month, typically on the first and third Mondays, and Committee of the Whole meetings are held as needed, typically on the second Monday of the month, at 7:30 at Village Hall (102 S Second St).

Holidays can impact the meeting schedule. Please view the the Community Calendar for upcoming meeting dates. In the event that a scheduled Board meeting is cancelled, notice will be posted to the front door of Village Hall and the online Community Calendar. Regular Board Meetings enable the Board to vote on proposals, and provides a 30 minute period for questions and comments from the audience (5 minutes per individual). Committee of the Whole meetings are held for the purpose of Board discussion only.

The Village Board receives recommendations from Village Commissions and Staff in order to make appropriate decisions for the community on matters of policy, expenditures and more. To request that a topic be included on an upcoming agenda, please contact the Administration Department.

Members of the Board serve as liaisons to various Village Departments, Commissions, governmental bodies and the community at large. Below are the current liaison assignments:

  • President Nelson: Kane County, Northwest Municipal Conference
  • Trustee Alopogianis: Community Relations, Community Development/Code Enforcement
  • Trustee Anderley: Intergovernmental, Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Metro West Mayors Council
  • Trustee Johnson: Administration & Finance, School District 300
  • Trustee Price: Appearance Review Commission, Planning & Zoning Commission
  • Trustee Wilbrandt: Police & Fire, QuadCom (911)
  • Trustee Yuscka: Public Works, Dundee Township Park District
The President and Board of Trustees are elected at-large on a nonpartisan basis for staggered four-year terms. Village Board elections are held in April of odd numbered years. West Dundee residents interested in running for the Village Board should contact Village Hall or the Kane County Elections Office for candidacy paperwork the previous September.
